INVINCIBLE Deconstructs The adidas Handball Spezial

Following a collaboration with On Running, Taiwanese streetwear label INVINCIBLE is keeping busy with their first adidas project in nearly two years. Here we have a deconstructed take on the iconic Handball Spezial silhouette, currently earmarked for a March 1st release.

Eyes are first drawn to the quarter, where the traditional stripe overlays are removed and replaced be perforations akin to the Stan Smith. The panels are all blown up and size and given distressed, cut-up edges, including a dark grey nubuck T-toe and more lightly-shaded hairy suede backtab. Crisp white leather makes up the rest of the top half, covering the sidewalls, tongue, heel, and interior lining. For branding, the INVINCIBLE logo can be spotted on the left backtab and makes an additional cameo in place of “Special” text on the right shoe. Underfoot, the design is complete by the standard brown gum Handball sole.
