Saucony may have a sleeper hit on their hands. Over the past 12 months and change, the Progrid Omni 9 has emerged as its most reliable collaborative asset, redesigned by Jae Tips, Starcow and Westside Gunn for some of their most lasting pairs in recent memory. Thus, it’s no surprise that in teaming up with Footpatrol, it’s that model in focus again, with a nature-themed edition landing on February 27th.
A smattering of oceanic tones take up the foundation of the Footpatrol Saucony Progrid Omni 9, uniting the leather collar, wide-knit mesh quarter and a patterned heel window with Omni 9 branding. Even if it’s multi-colored already, this portion pales in comparison to the wide-ranging earthy tones that atke over the rest of the shoe, highlighted by a khaki midsole and cream TPU Three Rivers logo. To close, translucent eye-stays pair with a clear outsole, while the Footpatrol Gas Mask logo appears on the tongue. Narratively, the campaign images, shot in Spain’s Tabernas Desert, align well with the shoe’s overtones, but no clear narrative inspirations have been spelled out yet outside of that.

Note that despite a literal ocean between them, Footpatrol isn’t a stranger to the world of Saucony. Though there’s been pitstops in the years since, likely their most lasting impression together was the Footpatrol Saucony Shadow 6000, among the most visually striking shoes to come out of that 2010s suede runner movement.
The Footpatrol Saucony Progrid Omni 9 drops via FP on February 27th, carrying a £155 sticker price. A wider release down the road remains a possibility, but these retailer collaborations are often entirely exclusive to the shops themselves.
