This Upcoming New Balance 550 Features Patent Leather Logos

The meteoric rise of the New Balance 550 in the early 2020s was huge for the Boston sneaker brand, but rather than place all their eggs in one basket (that being the vintage trend), New Balance also bolstered different verticals (mesh runners) that have since come to anchor its presence at retailers. Therefore, the fact that 550s are no longer flying off shelves isn’t a problem, but a natural evolution of the brand’s focus alongside current consumer interests.

Following a brief dormant period at the end of 2024, New Balance is treating 550 fans to a bit of a mini-resurgence. Joining versatile colorways like the “Green Toe” and “Dream State” for Spring/Summer 2025 is this multicolor white, blue, and orange mashup, shown here via official images. Eyes are first drawn to the patent leather “N” logo within the quarter, which is matched by differently-shaded blue leather panels throughout. Bright orange treatments can be found underfoot, and the collar introduces burnt orange suede to the mix. We can definitely see New Balance athlete Fransisco Lindor of the Mets lacing these up given the team-friendly blue and orange colors at play.

The New Balance 550 “White/Orange/Blue” releases Spring/Summer 2025 for the standard $110 retail price. See official images below and visit our Sneaker Release Dates page to learn about more upcoming New Balance shoes.
