The New Balance 990v6 “Light Mushroom” Swaps Suede For Leather

New Balance’s MADE In USA/UK lines are coming in hot and heavy in 2025, with the 991v2 continuing its strong run in new colorways and the New Balance 992 set to steal the spotlight following Joe Freshgoods’ latest collab. While a bit more under-the-radar by comparison, the New Balance 990v6 is continue to anchor the MiUSA line in fresh colorways.

This newly-surfaced edition is part of the next MADE In USA collection by New Balance creative director Teddy Santis of Aimé Leon Dore. Grey “Moonrock” and tan “Light Mushroom” leather wrap a mesh base, while a blue tongue tag breaks from the rest of the tonal design. We already know that Teddy has some more colorful New Balance shoes en route, including fresh takes on the 992 and 1300, but this 990v6 delivers a more understated aesthetic closer to the Boston brand’s core ethos.

Select European retailers have these set to launch on February 27th, but no global newbalance.com release date has been announced at the time of this writing. Keep our Sneaker Release Dates page handy for updates over the coming weeks.
