Detailed Look At The Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” With Black Tongue

Back with "Nike Air" for the first time since 1990.

Detailed Look At The Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” With Black Tongue

After being confirmed in November of 2024, detailed images of the “Fire Red” Jordan 5 retro featuring the original black tongue have emerged.

This is one of three original colorways returning for the model’s 35th anniversary alongside the “Black Metallic Reimagined” and “Grape,” and the only OG colorway to feature 23 stitching for Mike’s jersey number. We most recently got a silver tongue edition in 2020, but the OG black tongue design hasn’t reared its head since 2013.

Importantly, the 2025 black tongue retro comes with “Nike Air” on the heel for the first time since its original 1990 release. We’re expecting there to be a ton of energy around the drop, especially considering that the “Black Metallic Reimagined” was a smash hit.
