The Air Max 1 Low Poly has been making quite the splash as of late; over the All-Star Weekend, we saw the Air Max 1 “Donkey Kong”, ostensibly inspired by the iconic Super Nintendo game. In this latest photo shared by Nike footwear designer Bryce Wong, Lara Croft’s Tomb Raider gaming franchise could be the next low poly video game to influence an upcoming colorway of this reimagined ’87 classic

Possibly inspired by Lara Croft’s signature green to and brown cargo shorts, this Air Max 1 Low Poly flexes a new colorway featuring dark green mudguards that match the polygonal Swoosh logo and tongue label. Gum soles add even more of an adventurous spin on the execution, while the same pixelated uppers screen onto the mesh toe-box, upper quarter, and heel.

With the Nike Air Max 1 “Low Poly” set to arrive soon for those who pre-ordered the shoes back in October, Nike is gearing up for the annual Air Max Day festivities with this retro-forward take on the ’87 classic. Inspired by Low Poly graphic that took the gaming world by storm in the later 1990s, Nike transformed the Air Max 1 with a geometric reimagining of Tinker Hatfield’s original design.
