Skateboard P is putting the adidas Superstar on steroids. Joined by another spinoff model in the adidas Jellyfish, Pharrell’s next chapter with the Three Stripes includes a 90s-inspired, chunky take on the shell-toed street staple.
The double-wide adidas Superstar 92 was unveiled to the world at Paris Fashion Week last summer, and now official images have surfaced alongside some early release info. Whitaker Group retailers A Ma Maniére and Social Status will host an exclusive pre-launch at their respective Atlanta stores on February 15th, with a larger release likely following later on in the Spring 2025 shopping season.
The chunky Superstar re-imagination is prepared in simple white and black colorways, both of which come with three extra sets of colorful laces. Every area is blown-up in size to produce an aesthetic reminiscent of 90s skate shoes, including hallmark qualities like the stripes and shell toe. We’ve gotten chunky Superstars in the past, namely a “Superstuffed” collaboration by Kerwin Frost in 2021, but the changes executed here are far more encompassing.
Inflated proportions also mean that there’s an inflated price tag. adidas representatives have confirmed with Sneaker News that the Superstar 92 retails for $200, which is aptly double the MSRP of the base model. See official images of both colorways below and stick with us while we keep our ears up for further release info.
