Celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2025, the Air Max 95 designed by Sergio Lozano is being prepared for a proper reintroduction, bringing with it an important detail that has sneaker purists overjoyed. That would be the original horizontal seam that runs through the entire Air unit from toe to heel, and the restoration of the voluptuous Air bubble embedded in the soles.
In the mid 2000s, Nike phased out the beloved Air bubble, introducing a re-engineered version of the cushion designed to withstand the day to day wear and tear. The Air Max 95 unit was indeed prone to pops, gradual deflation, and the squeaks, so while Nike’s efforts to mitigate the issue were appreciated, it completely changed the look of the model and eventually turned off the entirety of the Air Max 95 fanbase.
For 2025, Nike promised that it would bring things back to its original form, later revealing a first look at the “newer” old Air unit last December by providing a first glimpse at the Air Max 95 “Neon”. Now, we’re revealing official images of an upcoming Cool Grey/Psychic Blue/Wolf Grey/Photon Dust/Black colorway, showing off the juicy bubbles in its entirety.
These are a Grade School size, but you can’t ignore just how much more voluminous the Air Max 95’s cushioning unit appears, and moving forward, we hope this will be the standard build moving forward.
A release date for the Air Max 95 “Neon” is likely landing sometime during next month’s Air Max Day festivities. This particular Air Max 95 “Cool Grey” is set to arrive late Spring/early Summer for $145, assuming Nike keeps the MSRP consistent with the current styles.
