Long before Jordan Security Services was handing out citations on campus to employees wearing the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 1 Mid drew violations from the core Jordan fanbase. Despite its mass popularity as the go-to sneaker for the mainstream, the Mid-cut AJ1 was always viewed as the “red-headed step-child” of the family tree.
But we digress. The Air Jordan 1 Mid of the modern age isn’t meant for the group currently clamoring over pairs of the Air Jordan 1 High ’85. It’s strictly directed towards the cool mall moms, and over the years its grown to be a fixture at the top of the casual lifestyle charts.
A new colorway is arriving soon, pairing some attractive shades of football grey and igloo, both of which are common in Nike and Jordan’s 80s era retro kicks line. It’ll drop with a few weeks for $125, so stay tuned for updates on our Jordan Release Dates page.
In other Jordan news, the Jordan 3 “Lucky Shorts” releases in full family sizes on February 22nd.
