Entering 2025, fervor around the adidas Samba remains a major story, the iconic pitch model still warranting online frenzies (as seen with the “Cheetah” Sambas in very recent memory.) If nothing else, that drop goes to show that while conventional GR colorways continue to warrant demand, the right special edition can truly capture consumer imagination, surely a path that adidas is hoping the Samba in “Court Green” Velour can accomplish.

As promised in the title, the textured velvet is the centerpiece, enveloping the upper comprehensively. Even with that pretty left-field change, the composition that’s brought the Samba to its modern heights stays intact: classic gum sole, leather T-toe. Jumping from those complementary pieces, the vintage branding on the tongue stands out, here plastered in gilded shades that further the glitzy overall atmosphere. While certainly fit for unisex adoption, it’s clear that retro womenswear was a jumping off point for this design, marking this as a trendy edition of a still-inescapable silhouette.
