Following PUMA Breakup, The First Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS x adidas Shoe Appears

After working with PUMA for over a decade, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 team recently shook up the motorsports sponsorship world by announcing a new deal with adidas, adding even more fuel to a German sneaker giant rivalry that’s been ongoing since the Dassler brothers parted ways in 1948. The Three Stripes is now responsible for creating gear for the team’s drivers, mechanics, engineers, and for our purposes; their fans. Here we have first look at a Mercedes adidas Superstar, currently set to launch ahead of the Miami Grand Prix in May 2025.

Official images reveal a hot pink sneaker with contrasting black hits on the stripes, backtab, and tongue. The color isn’t tied to Mercedes livery or the Formula 1 logo, but could potentially tribute the Miami Grand Prix given its obvious South Beach’s association (think Miami Vice). The highlight is a chromatic, embossed Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS logo on the backtab, matched by a screen-printed graphic over the tongue tag.

The Mercedes adidas Superstar retails for $120 and is scheduled to release via adidas.com in May 2025. Scroll through the full gallery below as anticipation builds.
