Comme des Garçons Is Bringing Back The Nike Air Rejuven8

Much like Supreme, Comme des Garçons has a reputation for collaborating with Nike on some of their more obscure, sometimes forgotten models of the past. The Paris-based fashion house most recently played a role in resurrecting the Air Max TL 2.5, and it’s only a matter of time before their Air Max 96 capsule for SS25 comes to market. Looking a bit further ahead, CDG’s latest known project with the Swoosh revisits Air Rejuven8 trainer from 2008.

To the uninitiated; the Air Rejuven8 was introduced ahead of the Beijing Olympics as a shoe for athletes to wear for pre and post-competition recovery. It’s traditionally made up of a removable mesh bootie and elaborate TPU outer shell, although Nike got experimental with mid-tops, mule versions, and even a hybrid model featuring Lunarlon foam and Nike Presto design cues.

The CDG Air Rejuven8s maintain the model’s original sole, but the upper is completely reimagined with a ton of Flywire cables. The material completely fills out the mudguard, heel, and eyelet sections, while the side profiles favor a fishnet-style pattern. Differing even further from OG tooling, these feature built-in mesh lining as opposed to the previously-mentioned removable bootie.

The Comme des Garçons x Air Rejuven8 will release in black and white colorways as part of CDG’s FW25 lineup, although no firm release date has been floated at the time of this writing. Importantly, precedent suggests that the Air Rejuven8 will get a wider resurrection shortly after CDG’s touch-up rolls out. In any case, know that our Sneaker Release Dates page will be kept current as we keep our ears up for more info.
