Anthony Edwards Gives The Kansas Jayhawks An adidas AE1 Low PE

With March Madness looming closer by the day, the Kansas Jayhawks just got a special delivery from the face of adidas Basketball. Anthony Edwards and the Three Stripes shipped out AE1 Low PEs featuring a slew of school-inspired touches, shown here via detailed images.

The Kansas AE1 Low PE begins with a royal blue fabric interior and a contrasting pop of red on Three Stripes over the heel. An abstract, multicolor pattern appears over the honeycomb cage, while a bolder mix of white and blue lands on the outsole. The backtab features “Kansas” text, aptly taken in the school’s same typography, and the insoles read “Rock Chalk,” the Jayhawks’ rallying cry, across the left and right shoes.

Importantly, this marks just the second college-themed AE1 PE thus far (behind one for the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff). Ant went to college at Georgia, which is a Nike school, so we can confidently rule out the possibility of an AE1 PE making its way down there. The “Pure Ruby” colorway ties in with Georgia through its color, but adidas can’t use the Bulldogs’ logo as it’s done on the Kansas PE.

The Kansas AE1 Low PEs won’t release publicly, but you’ll be able to see them on-court when the Kansas men’s and women’s basketball teams take on Houston on Saturday, January 25th.
