Original article published January 23rd, 2025:The ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 has embraced myriad contemporary colorways since JJJJound gave the model new life through their 2022 collaboration; a testament to extreme consumer interest in 2000s runners for lifestyle wear. At the same time, the 2008-born shoe hasn’t shied away from its sporty roots, also embracing fresh looks that ooze throwback, sporty aesthetics. Exhibit A; this upcoming “Papaya” colorway.

Metallic silver overlays set the tone, complemented by wide black and grey mesh across the lowermost layer. Tasteful pops of “Papaya” orange appear on the sidewalls, tongue, and GEL cushioning capsules, while a slightly yellowed midsole caps off the delivery underfoot.

The “Papaya” GEL-Kayano 14 retails for $150 and will release via ASICS in the very near future. See official images below if you’re considering adding a pair to your springtime rotation.

In related news, the GEL-Quantum Kinetic recently surfaced in several new colorways.
