Nike has never been to precious about their most beloved models. In fact, it’s almost the opposite; the more popular a silhouette, the more likely is to receive some sort of retooling, reimaging or offshoot. It’s why we were unsurprised at the top of last year to catch wind of the Air Max Plus Drift, a TPU-heavy offshoot of the Tn proper that later became a wider theme with the release of the Air Max 90 Drift.
We wondered aloud whether additional Air Max models would join those two in changing shape, something that still hasn’t come about, but one of those standard bearers is marching on with a chaotic new colorway. It’s an inherently clashing palette atop the mechanized model, blending neutral notes of black, cream, brown and grey on the foundation and TPU extensions at the quarter.
Two accent shades play in the space in between, with aquamarine tonality taking over the Swoosh and two pull-tabs down the midline, while a yellow ribbon weaves throughout the profile to match the vamp Air Max branding. Buying any pair of the Nike Air Max 90 Drift requires a love for the unconventional, likely making this half-earthy edition a strength-on-strength sort of pair.
Look for this Nike Air Max 90 Drift hitting shelves in the coming weeks, projected to carry its standard $160 retail price.
Across the hall in Beaverton, we’re starting to see tangible 2025 Jordan Releases, including the Jordan 11 Low “Year of the Snake” and Jordan 5 “Earth,” both expected towards the end of January.
