The Nike Shox R4 Adds A Twist Of Bright Mandarin

OG color-blocking with a twist of orange.

The Nike Shox R4 Adds A Twist Of Bright Mandarin

There’s no sneaker cushion tech that screams the 2000s quite like Nike’s springy, boingy, and gimmicky Shox. Debuting at the early part of the new millennium, Nike’s latest and greatest innovation came in the form of a cluster of columns at the heel known as Shox; today, it’s one of the most popular silhouettes in the ongoing Y2K/retrofuture fashion movement in the younger demographic.

The R4 has shown no signs of slowing its pace in the mid-2020s; re-releasing twice in the original black/silver/red colorway, the original Shox running shoe continues to build its fanbase through updated colorways that don’t stray far from the formula. While this “Bright Mandarin” pair merely appears like a color-swap of the OG, the upper lacks the metallic finish of the originals and instead opts for the newer Vast Grey for a bit of a muted approach. This upcoming “Bright Mandarin” replaces the red columns at the heel for the yellowish-orange.

You can find this newest Nike Shox R4 on Nike.com and partner retailers late Spring 2025 for $150.
