A Swoosh-Shaped Whistle Comes Attached With This Classic Nike Football Shoe

The end of the regular season is looming, and though the playoffs will take us through the coldest months of the winter, Nike’s spotlighted football model isn’t tied to the NFL schedule. The Nike Field General ’82 is shaping up for a massive 2025 as a competitor to other simplistic, vintage silhouettes like the adidas Samba, and the latest colorway to emerge comes with some playful swag on top.

As promised in the title, this version of the shoe indeed comes with a whistle charm molded after Beaverton’s iconic branding, here displayed hanging from the laces. The indentation in the top indicates that yes, were you to suddenly be recruited as an on-the-spot referee, it’d actually be able to fulfill its purpose. As for the shoe it comes attached to, the model switches to a translucent sole, tinted a bit rosier than traditional gum, while a muted blend of light grey and jet black up top keeps things restrained overall.

Look for the Nike Field General ’82 landing via Nike channels this Spring, carrying an accessible $100 retail price.
