Jordan Brand Premieres “Origin Story” Animated Short On The Air Jordan 1 History

In case the insane list of Jordan Release Dates for 2025 wasn’t enough evidence, the new year will be a pivotal one for the Jordan Brand as the Air Jordan 1 heads into its 40th Anniversary celebration.

While the massive slate of Jordan drops for 2025 will ensure consumer interest, the Jumpman is taking concerted efforts in keeping the storytelling aspect alive. Connecting Michael Jordan’s on-court moments to cultural history has been the driving force of the Jordan community growth, and with the Air Jordan 1 experience a significant cool-off period over the last two years, there’s no better time than to remind the world of the OG’s influence in sneaker culture as a whole — especially with the release of the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” ’85 arriving in February.

Jordan Brand has shared an official statement on the launch of Origin Story: “As we head into the new year, Jordan Brand is giving fans of the brand an opportunity to travel back in time to where it all began. 2025 marks 40 years of Air Jordan and as the brand prepares to celebrate the impact MJ has made on the game, we are unveiling the Origin Story – an animated film detailing the reach and influence of the AJ1.”
