The Nike Zoom Spiridon Retro Marches On In “Black/Metallic Silver”

A stealthy edition of the revitalized model.

The Nike Zoom Spiridon Retro Marches On In “Black/Metallic Silver”

There’s an innumerable amount of retro releases that Nike is juggling at any given moment, but there’s no denying that the Nike Zoom Spiridon resurgence carries a special energy. One of the more beloved vintage running silhouettes in the Swoosh archives, the retread initiative has followed a pretty digestible cadence: a notable collaborator (Fragment) kicked off the shoe, one of its first colorways hit the shelves (the Spiridon “OG”), before a full deluge of mainline colorways follows. As we shuffle into the lattermost step of that process, the Nike Zoom Spiridon appears in a “Black/Metallic Silver” colorway.

It may not be an OG release, but there are plenty of previous parallels for this colorway, perhaps unsurprising given the simple, accessible palette on display. Silver and black is a combination that’s inescapable throughout the Beaverton catalog, and revitalizing it for the Spiridon’s latest push  is a savvy play.

What sets this edition apart from those linked counterparts are two specific details here; the chromed-out Swoosh and the flash of “Sport Red” at the forefoot mini-Swoosh. Elsewise, this sticks to a script that’s been explored and succeeded before; “goes with everything” jet black mesh is contrasted by reflective 3M silver piping, creating a balance between imminent wearability and eye-catching flair (under the right lighting.)

While many sources report that the Nike Zoom Spiridon “Black/Metallic Silver” will be released in December 2024, the year being so close to its end means there’s a decent chance we’ll get these towards the top of the new year. Regardless of when they arrive, expect a $160 retail price — we’ll have our “Where To Buy” section stocked with direct links once they do materialize.
