Check Out This Insane Air Jordan 1 Low “Chicago” Wood Sculpture

If you’re not following @happylifewood on Instagram, you’re missing out on seeing some top-tier sneaker art.

New York-based artist Steve Thomson has turned his passion for sneakers and woodworking into a full-blown career, creating works for names like A$AP Rocky and PJ Tucker and even releasing an official collaboration with Jordan Brand back in April.

Thomson’s latest sneaker sculpture has been in the works for nearly two years, and it’s a beauty. With the Air Jordan 1 Low Chicago now expected to return Holiday 2025, Thomson recently shared an all-wood sculpture of the shoe crafted without any added painting/staining.

The red parts of the sculpture are cut from padauk wood, the white is sourced from holly, and the black comes from wenge. Per usual, Thomson’s attention to detail is on point. From the fan favorite big Swoosh to the “Nike Air” on the tongue and insoles, every aspect of the piece speaks to a high level of craftsmanship.

Thomson mentions that his Jordan 1 Low “Chicago” sculpture is currently for sale, so go ahead and slide into his DMs if you’re moved to cop.
