Matt Varga If you’ve been paying attention to sneakers as long as we have, you’ll know that there’s been plenty of offshoot reimaginings of the Air Jordan 1 over its lifespan; cushioned CMFT, the lifestyle Phat, Foamposite “Anondized” cuts — rattling them off would take far longer than is needed. That overwhelming quantity makes it all the more special when one is able to cut through the noise, and the “Method of Make” hardware is one that’s reached that goal, presenting a faux-luxury take that sits far enough apart from mainline pairs without sacrificing the AJ1’s most beloved qualities. Now, a third build is beginning to take hold, again in the spotlight with the rosy edition featured here.
While the “Method of Make” low was previously defined by hard leather, handbag-inspired tech, including gilded designer tags and pronounced stitching, here the touches that define the High begin to take hold on a shorter construction. Each of the panels on the upper get a plush overhaul, particularly noticeable on the toe-guard and lower eye-stay, as well as the Swoosh, now embedded into the quarter on this Jordan 1 Low rather than sitting above it. Both this colorway and the “Earth” pair we tipped off at the tail end of November keep the monochromatic aesthetic alive, however, presenting statement piece appeal on a shoe that shouldn’t have trouble attracting attention in the first place.
No concrete release date has been attached to this Air Jordan 1 Low “Method Of Make,” but it’s a safe bet that these will be on shelves and Nike.com come Spring 2025.
