The Air Jordan 8 may not be the belle of the ball at the current moment the way the Air Jordan 4 or Air Jordan 5 are, but that aligns with its status as one of the more underrated silhouettes in MJ’s canon. Yet even if it’s taken a backseat in terms of quantity over the past few years, the early reactions to the return of the “Aqua” colorway show that the model still has plenty of fans. If you count yourself among them, we’ve got welcome news — first look images of the 2025 Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” have just emerged.
While the shape of any Jordan model is typically top of the line in any retro conversation, the Air Jordan 8 has never deviated all too much from the original construction, or at least this 2025 edition and the 2018 pair have kept to its script. In kind, the light grey back panels and collar outline remain in the light grey that first debuted in 1993, leaving the 2007 pair as the only one to adopt the non-OG all-black upper. However, let’s not bury the lede. The divisive sparkly midsole is completely absent in these shots, the rare instance where diverging from the OG DNA is an actual fan-favorite (perhaps the Jordan 10 “Steel” and its reported toe-cap can relate.)
As the release of this shoe draws closer, we’ll surely get updated, closer looks at the shoe in question, but for now, this allows us to get a preliminary sense of what to expect. The Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” is currently scheduled to release in July 2025 in full family sizing. Watch our Jordan Release Dates hub for additional info down the line.
