Union LA Is Bringing Back Their Air Jordan 1 Next Summer

An in-hand look at one of 2025's biggest releases.

Union LA Is Bringing Back Their Air Jordan 1 Next Summer

The main category that makes 2025 Jordan Releases so intriguing is undoubtedly retro releases: the Air Jordan 1 “Bred,” Jordan 4 “White Cement,” Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboard,” the list truly goes on forever. However, revitalizing vaunted partnerships through bring-backs or sequels is arguably as big of a story for the new year, none larger than fresh entries for a storied Jumpman partner. New in-hand shots of the Union Jordan 1, unofficially deemed the “ChiDow,” give us a renewed sense of what to expect with this seismic release.

For this latest edition, the formula of mashing up OG releases in deconstructed, industrial fashion remains. Rather than the Storm Blue / Black Toe or Black Toe / Neutral Grey coloring of the coveted first two, here the West Coast imprint ventures into novel territory, mashing up the equally vaunted Shadow and Chicago pairs. Those top notes aren’t the only holdovers from product already beloved by sneakerheads; a jagged stitching “sewing” one pair’s blocking onto the other, a faux-vintage midsole, and raw leather edges on the upper panels ensure this is a continuation of the series rather than a divergence a la the Bephies Beauty Supply three-way collab from 2023.

Speaking of link-ups with three principal players, note that this isn’t the only monumental drop that Union has on the Jordan 1 in 2025. The Fragment Union Jordan 1 will ensure that the brand remains a headline in the sneaker world for more than just a singular buzzy moment. Add that to Beaverton revitalizing the Undefeated Jordan 4 and Off-White Jordan 1, as well as new entrants like AWAKE Jordan 5, and the 2025 slate becomes all the more expensive.

When news of this pair first broke, a February 2025 release date came alongside. However, as additional information has emerged, a Summer 2025 launch is now expected, somewhere in the span from April to June. Retail pricing is unconfirmed at this stage. Scroll just ahead for some in-hand looks, and return to our Jordan Release Dates hub for further updates as the launch draws closer.

Elsewhere in our coverage, we’re continuing to track Travis Scott shoes in the waning months of 2024, as a new Jordan 1 Low collab and fresh Jumpman Jack colorways loom.
