The New Balance 1906R “Blue Chrome” Comes With Winter Reinforcements

New Balance’s latest 1906R isn’t like the rest. While most releases feature gauze-like mesh across the base, this new release brings winter-appropriate colors as well as a fresh, durability-minded synthetic pattern.

Diving head-first into tech-heavy aesthetics, the shoe is reinforced by oval-shaped synthetic material over the toe box, quarter, and collar sections. Close inspection reveals a subtle distressed touch around the pattern’s joining points, serving to blend in with the breathable mesh layer underneath. The heart of the shoe lands in light “Blue Chrome” to match the quarter branding and heel counter, while the rest of the design ices up in white and “Grey Matter.” All told, the shoe comes as a sensible cold weather arrival given its wintery palette and complementary durability enhancements.

The New Balance 1906R “Blue Chrome” is available now via New Balance in men’s sizing, marked with a $170 retail price (a notable $15 bump from most 1906Rs). Take advantage of our “Where To Buy” section below for purchase links if you’re considering copping.
