The Nike Air Max 95 Ultra holds onto a rather unconventional release schedule; though it’s never been entirely shelved, it’s not a particularly frequent sight, preferring instead to meter out colorways on a scattered yearly basis. While that inherently makes each look for the just-adjacent Air Max model more notable than your average Nike Sportswear offering, there’s plenty of reason to pay attention to the “Caution Strip” edition set to land in the coming weeks.

3M detailing isn’t enough to stop the presses, but the striped, scattered way the reflective material lands on the topmost piece of the sidewall is worth a second look. Unlit, the shoe leans on a chromed-out, futuristic look, a perfect match for the streamlined, flattened composition that makes the Air Max 95 Ultra a genuine offshoot. Underfoot, an all-black sole unit completes a sufficiently stealthy look, pitch-perfect given how the under-the-radar undertones belie the attention-grabbing accents that light this design.
