The storied Vomero line is ready to add the newest member to the family, and it’s bringing with it some big cushion energy. The Nike Vomero 18, which won’t hit retail until February 27th, has been officially unveiled by Nike; let’s take a closer look.
If you’re familiar with the Vomero running line, you can already tell that the 18 is ushering in a new generation of design, but underneath the remodeled sole and upper is some advanced tech that you’ll only see in the brand’s top-of-the-line performance offerings.
It’s hard to ignore the demand for thicker soles in running shoes. The Vomero 18 is answering that call, but beyond mere aesthetics; the 46mm stack height, 6mm taller than its predecessor and by far the most in the family. And with this new stack height is a powerful pairing of ZoomX that spans the full-length of the shoe and ReactX in the heel and forefoot (ReactX replaces Cushlon 3.0). These lighter, more responsive foams allow for the thicker unit without feeling mushy.

Nike’s Road Running Footwear Line-up
The goal with the Vomero 18 was the provide maximum cushioning, the preferred package for everyday runs suitable for experienced milers, newbies looking to join a local run club, and everyone in between. This upcoming silhouette aligns with Nike’s newly announced and simplified Road Running Footwear Lineup, which consists of three dedicated foci — Maximum Cushioning, Responsive Cushioning, and Supportive Cushioning.
