The 70s silhouette drops mesh as we head towards winter.

Nike Unveils A New Textile Build For Their Vintage LD-1000 Runner

At least in general releases, the early retro pairs for the Nike LD-1000 have relied on the model’s original build. A collision of suede trim, synthetics, and leather has been matched by staid, two-tone colorways that tap into its 1970s origins. While the palette for its latest look isn’t revolutionary, the Nike LD-1000 is experimenting with its materials for the first time in this renewed run.

The synthetic mesh that set up the base of the LD-1000 is instead swapped to a heartier counterpart, almost reading as a woolen textile intended to stand up to the colder months. That warmer composition aligns well with the suede paneling at the forefoot and heel, all of those sections draped in the same midnight black. Off-white on the midsole and throwback branding on the tongue close out the design, adding an extra shot of vintage sensibility in the process.

Look for the Nike LD-1000 “Black/Pale Ivory” hitting shelves on November 5th. A SNKRS release is likely, as is a $100 retail price.
