James Harden Is The Military God Of Wealth In This Collaboration With Deal Lifestyle

James Harden is one of the most popular NBA stars in China, regularly taking trips over during the offseason to connect with his fanbase and promote his signature adidas shoe line. Therefore, the door for Chinese sneaker stores to collaborate with adidas on James Harden shoes is all the way open.

The next adidas Harden Vol 8 collab comes to us from Deal Lifestyle, embracing a design theme inspired by Wu Caishen, the Military God Of Wealth. Meant to symbolize a parallel between Wu Caishen and James Harden’s tenacity and desire for victory, the shoe comes decked out with embellishments inspired by traditional, regal garb. The upper features a multicolor mix of blue, green, red, and gold treatments, with auspicious clouds appearing on the sidewalls. A mask of Wu Caishen, traditionally used in Chinese opera, is debossed onto a patent leather toe box, while Chinese characters reading “turn misfortune into good fortune, and wealth rolls in” appears on the tongue.

Moreover, there are some thoughtful texture changes worth pointing out. The quarter features a scaly pattern an an ode to the Chinese dragon, while the heel features faux horse hair as a nod to Wu Caishen and James Harden’s beard.

The Deal Lifestyle x adidas Harden Vol 8 “God Of Wealth” is currently set to release on November 16th via Deal Lifestyle. No global release has been announced at the time of this writing, but know that this page as well as our Sneaker Release Dates hub will update with any and all new information.
