The Nike Air Force 1 Pours “University Red” On Another Timeless Look

Eco-friendly materials make lacing these up a no-brainer.

All-black and all-white are by far the most iconic colorways for the Nike Air Force 1, but if you expand the range, tone-on-white editions are nearly as inescapable. The layout’s wide appeal has led Nike to usher in “Next Nature” hardware within its bounds with regularity, a prompt revisited again with the Nike Air Force 1 Low “University Red.”

If it wasn’t abundantly clear, the colorway here shouldn’t be a major surprise for anyone. The two-tone look gets a bit of a refresh, only utilizing flat white on the toe-box and quarter panel while instead revamping the rest of the shoe in “Sail.” However, the configuration remains in broad strokes, utilizing “University Red” in the same branding spots as previous similar editions.

For long-time readers, exactly what Nike means with Next Nature branding shouldn’t be entirely new, either. For the uninitiated, a 20% ratio of recycled materials is guaranteed, with Beaverton repurposing post-consumer materials for the pair featured here. The dotted finish of the midsole is confirmation of that, as is the “Sunburst” circular logo embedded on the insole.
