Australia’s Up There Steeps A New Balance 860v2 Collaboration

Australian sneaker boutique Up There has emerged as a major player in the runners scene, minting an impressive string of collaborations with major players like New Balance, ASICS, and Saucony. After impressing once again with their latest ASICS GEL-Terrain, they’re shipping off to Boston once again, returning with a new colorway atop the New Balance 860v2.

Up There’s collaborative work has almost exclusively stayed on the home front. That is to say, each of their past offerings has worked in some allusion to Australia, be it with their New Balance 2002R that oded to backyard cookouts or their ASICS GT-II that showcased Victoria’s state flower, the Pink Heath. With that precedent in place, the volt green, pink, deep blue, and brown colorway here is likely a representation of Australia’s wildlife vistas, with that aforementioned national symbol, the vivid coastlines and the venerable Acacia possible inspirations.

In terms of hardware, the New Balance 860v2 gets wider mesh in this application, largely holds onto its defining characteristics; detailed patterns on the overlays and wide mesh stand out as the main draws. However, these new shots reveal a removable shroud anchored to the shoe with the laces for easy customizability. A set of three bulbous laces that reflect the shoe’s overall palette and a two-tone trimmed pair in blue/neon green close out the peripherals that arrive alongside the sneakers themselves.

As of writing, a release date for the Up There New Balance 860v2 isn’t clear, but the Australian imprint’s sole promo so far is labeled “UT NB 2025.” If that window holds, we’ll provide further updates closer to the new year.
