Five HBCU Colleges Highlighted By The adidas Crazy 8 Low

adidas is once again demonstrating its commitment to Historically Black Colleges & Universities through sneakers, shining a light on five institutions with school-specific Crazy 8 Low colorways. Included are pairs for Alabama State, Alcorn State, Grambling State, Prairie View A&M, and Arkansas Pine Bluff, all of which release at the cusp of October right on time for homecoming season.

The delivery comes after adidas shipped out PEs to HBCUs back in February for Black History Month, including Anthony Edwards shoes and signature models by Dame Lillard, James Harden, and Donovan Mitchell. This latest bundle falls under the performance-turned-lifestyle basketball genre, taken on the new low-top version of Kobe Bryant’s first ever signature shoe.

Naturally, each pair features a balanced mix of school colors. The Alabama State colorway makes use of white, black, and yellow, while Grambling State and Arkansas Pine Bluff feature similar but inverted black/yellow treatments. The Alcorn State pair is arguably most intriguing, complete with two different purple shades and a splash of yellow, while Prairie View A&M’s pair comes in dark purple and black.

The HBCU adidas Crazy 8 Low capsule releases in full on October 1st via adidas, with each pair retailing for $120. Scroll through detailed images of all five colorways below if you’re considering copping a pair.
