Sabrina Ionescu Nods To Oregon With Her Nike Signature Shoe

With the WNBA announcing that Portland, Oregon will be the recipient of the league’s next expansion team in 2026, Sabrina Ionescu to Portland chatter has already begun.

The former Oregon Duck is of course well acquainted with the state, and diving a bit deeper, her contract with the New York Liberty expires the year before the new franchise tips off. While natives are surely crossing their fingers, nobody’s salivating at the idea of Sabrina returning to Oregon as much as the Nike, which has its HQ located within ten miles of Portland’s city center. In any case, we’ll be speculating for years before we get to see how things play out. For now, Nike and Sabrina are nodding to her alma matter with the Sabrina 2 “Oregon,” set to arrive Holiday 2024.

The shoe itself seems like a bit of an afterthought in this case, but aside from its green and yellow palette, there are few key touches worth pointing out. For one, the Swoosh logos are slightly different from what we’ve seen on the model thus far, assuming a more rounded, vintage shape that stretches up near the collar. Moreover, the tongue features suede as opposed to leather, delivering a bit more texture and clear tie to the Oregon Ducks’ mascot.

Currently, the Sabrina 2 “Oregon” is slated to arrive during the Holiday 2024 shopping season for $130 in unisex sizes. See official images below and stay tuned while we hunt down a firm date.
