Nike’s Waterproof Air Force 1 Pro Tech Is Back In “Sequoia”

Tonal treatments match the shoe's toolsy takeover.

Nike’s Waterproof Air Force 1 Pro Tech Is Back In “Sequoia”

The Nike Air Force 1 has been reinvented, reimagined and reissued in nearly every manner imaginable over its vaunted 40 year history. However, it managed to chart new territory in 2023, with Beaverton rolling out a series of waterproof takes on Bruce Kilgore’s design that eschewed any new material touches. Instead, the “Uptown” aimed towards a one-piece construction to accomplish that function-minded purpose. After a brief hiatus, the Nike Air Force 1 Pro Tech is set to make a grand return in naturalistic “Sequoia.”

You’ll likely note the major change immediately; an embossed Swoosh showcases the uniting stylistic choice on this Air Force 1 Low, while tumbled leather replaces the typical matte counterpart from mainline releases. Visually, that seamless atmosphere is matched with heavy applications of the titular olive, only interrupted with semi-translucent navy on the outsole.

As with past releases, the shoe’s new purpose is proudly stamped on the tongue tag, adding “Waterproof” text underneath the typical branding iconography. Still as common a sight on the street as ever, the return of the waterproof AF1 intends to make reaching for your pair as easy a choice in more inclement environments, surely a more common sight as we creep towards FW24.

The Nike Air Force 1 Pro Tech WP “Sequoia” drops in the coming weeks via Nike.com and select retailers. Check the gallery included just below for official images while we await further details.
