Packer Showcases Its Next Collaboration: The Reebok Premier Road Modern

After a retro effort in 2020, Reebok is intent on bringing back their 2000s Premier running series (or at least its “Modern” retooling.) First tipped off with the brand-new Premier Road Ultra, a frequent partner is now joining the effort, as New Jersey’s Packer Shoes is bringing their reliable creative touch to the Y2K model.

A first glance at the model immediately reveals why the Boston brand is betting on the success of the silhouette. Thick geometric overlays drape the lateral & medial sides, with Packer deploying those sections in a smattering of neutral shades. Deep umber are foremost among that crowd, but dusky purple notes also stand out towards the bottom half of the shoe.

Even if the model embraces current retro trends, mesh runner footwear is a crowded category. A close eye reveals that Reebok has a few tricks up its sleeve to help the Premier Road Modern cut through the noise. A pronounced toe-cap and stamp at the heel imbue a next-century sort of techiness, and the grid pattern on the insoles that Packer provides here only further enhances that futuristic bend.

Alongside these images, brand director Victor Kan shared that the Packer Reebok Premier Road Modern is coming “very soon.” Specific pricing & date info isn’t clear, but we’re expecting to hear them in short order. For now, check out Kan’s in-hand shots just below.
