Hits Of “Volt” Electrify The Nike Shox R4

Though the category is stacked every year, the Nike Shox line stands as one of the foremost retro offerings out of Beaverton this year. It’s been a two-pronged effort between the Nike Shox TL, rolling out a few looks from its last run in 2018, and the Nike Shox R4, utilized more for brand-new executions. That’s exactly the case here with a high-energy “Volt” version.

Iterating a successful recent all-white “Metallic Silver” look, the application of snowy white and chrome shades throughout this shoe remains intact, with the notable exception of neon green at the spring columns under the heel. Much as it did when Shox technology was first introduced, the R4 and its siblings under the umbrella continue to offer an eye-catching alternative to now stitious Air technology should you take these at their performance face value. However, in this revitalized run, there’s no denying that the silhouette taps into retro sensibilities that are only gaining steam as time goes on.

Keep an eye out for the Nike Shox R4 this Fall, retailing at $150 in women’s sizing.
