Caitlin Clark Debuts Her First Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE

It’s only a matter of time before Caitlin Clark gets her own signature Nike shoe, but for now, we can expect to see the rising WNBA star grace the sneaker newswire through special player edition footwear. At a recent practice, she took an opportunity to unveil her first Nike Kobe PE to the world; a black and yellow Kobe 5 Protro.

Considering the colors and model at play, sneakerheads are bound to point out similarities to the Kobe 5 Bruce Lee, one of the most iconic colorways of that Kobe Bryant signature. The bulk of the shoe comes drenched in yellow while the heel portion lends contrast in black, fused together with a gradient midsole. On top of University of Iowa colors (Clark’s alma mater), the shoes also tie in with the “Explorer Edition” jerseys worn by the Indiana Fever.

Clark has favored the Kobe 5 and Kobe 6 throughout her rookie year thus far, so it’s only sensible that Nike hones in on those models when it comes to her player editions. Notably, she was one of the select few to receive the Kobe 6 WNBA All-Star PE a couple weeks back.

Clark stated in a recent TikTok video that there are more Kobe 5 PEs on the horizon, so stick with us while we continue to keep pulse with the WNBA rookie sensation (and her sneakers).
