The New Balance 860v2 “Gold Medal” Is Ready For The Podium

Y2K footwear hallmarks take different meaning.

The New Balance 860v2 “Gold Medal” Is Ready For The Podium

Much like what we saw with the New Balance 550 a few years back, New Balance 860v2 collaborations with Aimé Leon Dore have paved way for a slew of widely available general release colorways. While not as prevalent as its tech runner counterpart in the New Balance 1906R, the 860v2 has relished in the ongoing Y2K footwear wave all the same, standing tall as a go-to option for all those looking to adopt the trending aesthetic.

Staying within itself with an ensemble of metallic treatments, this latest pair lends a clear nod to Olympic hardware, whether that be intentional or not. An unofficial “Gold Medal” nickname seems appropriate, carried by metallic gold finishes near the toe and heel portions up top. The rest of the overlays take second in metallic silver, while “Sea Salt” touches up the New Balance logos and mesh base layer. Underfoot, the midsole and outsole come painted in grey and black, respectively.

Pairs are currently available now via Sneaker Politics for $140 and are likely to hit other retailers and the New Balance website in the near future. Scroll through detailed shots of the New Balance 860v2 “Gold Medal” below and turn to our “Where To Buy” section below for purchase links.
