Salehe Bembury Will Design The Next Puma Hoops Signature Shoe

He will also help recruit new talent to the brand

Salehe Bembury Will Design The Next Puma Hoops Signature Shoe

On top of his work with New Balance and the enduring impact of his Pollex Clog & Crocs Juniper series, Salehe Bembury is now adding another brand into his arsenal. The NYC designer & PUMA took to Instagram to formally announce Bembury’s addition to the PUMA Hoops umbrella.

In their official statement, PUMA clarified the exact scope of this new deal. In addition to getting his first ever signature basketball silhouette, Bembury will serve a central role in recruiting the brand’s next signature athlete, a hinge point for a burgeoning roster currently boasting the likes of LaMelo Ball, Scoot Henderson, Breanna Stewart and Flau’Jae Johnson. Said Bembury: “As a 90’s kid from New York City, I’ve played basketball my whole life and have a deep history, emotion, and nostalgia for the sport. I’m excited to leverage this collaboration as a catalyst to introduce an untold side of me and engage a new community.”

Importantly, Salehe has taken to socials in the past few weeks to show some early steps. He sported an ostensible prototype for said signature as he made a public appearance at PUMA HQ. Though our full performance breakdown will have to wait, in first looks, the model pairs a techy upper with his signature fingerprint pattern on the sole unit underfoot.

As mentioned above, this official announcement and those early shots are the extent of the info we have at this time. Stay tuned to SneakerNews.com and our social channels for updates as the Salehe Bembury PUMA partnership develops further.
