A Tokyo-Exclusive New Balance 991v2 Appears In Pink Suede

Is this the best colorway yet?

A Tokyo-Exclusive New Balance 991v2 Appears In Pink Suede

New Balance aficionados have embraced the 991v2 with open arms. The second iteration in the Boston brand’s Made In UK 991 series debuted in late 2023 by way of a Stone Island collaboration; a release that has since been followed by a handful of additional collabs and a storm of general release pairs that are arguably just as compelling. Opinions are subjective of course, but this latest colorway might just be the brand’s best to date.

Flaunted here via campaign and product imagery by atmos Toyko, the shoes rely on a high-contrast “Pink/Black” color combo. Buttery suede overlays carry the look, while grey leather underlays and an open mesh base rest underneath, directing eyes to the ambitious splash of color. The tongue, heel, and sole all work in a series of black/grey treatments while reflective New Balance logos make their usual appearances on the medial and lateral quarters.

New Balance doesn’t miss when it comes to pink sneakers, whether it be due to the brand’s renowned material quality or simply the excellence of its design team. Notably, there’s another pink-dominant 991v2 releasing in the near future; the “Brandied Apricot” colorway, which has already been met with great anticipation by the New Balance community on social media. This most recent pair, too, is sure to appear on lots of wish lists.

The New Balance 991v2 “Pink/Black” ($240) first releases exclusively via atmos Tokyo on August 10th, 2024, with a raffle running from 7/27-8/10. However, it’s possible the shoes could release globally at a later date. In any case, know that our “Where To Buy” section below and Sneaker Release Dates hub will be kept current with all the latest information.
