Nike Unveils The “Electric Pack”, An Avant Garde Eyewear Collection

We’re used to seeing Nike leverage its eye for innovation to shake up the footwear game, but the Beaverton brand brings a similar spirit to its other verticals. The latest standout out of Nike’s performance eyewear division is the “Electric Pack,” comprised of two new avant garde models named “Zeus” and “Athena.”

Both are among the first “computationally designed” performance sunglasses out of Beaverton, implying that artificial intelligence was utilized in some capacity. From a design standpoint, each is unequivocally unique in its own right, to say the least.

The Nike Zeus looks a whole lot like a protective mask, defined by elaborate structures on the brow and lower eye that are perforated for breathability, taking a page from the Nike Windshield Elite 360. The design itself combines traditional acupressure points with the look of speed.

Meanwhile, the Nike Athena stands out due to the abstract shape of its mirroring; a real eyebrow-raiser by all definitions. The glasses feature stainless steel arms and have been fused with scerwless, ultrasonic bonds, making them extremely lightweight. Adding uniqueness, the glasses come with safari print patterns on the sides — a direct connection with Nike’s Olympic-inspired concept.

Both members of the “Electric Pack” are meant for pre and post-competition and feature Nike Max Extreme Lens technology, making them anti-fog, anti-reflective, hydrophobic, and oleophobic. Dropping July 24th on Nike SNKRS, the Nike Zeus retails for $450 and the Nike Athena retails for $248.
