We’re in the middle of a pretty big push for the Nike Cortez, dozens of new colorways hitting the shelves in the just the last few months. While the low-key lifestyle appeal of the 70s runner persists even in its modern applications, for its newest colorway, it’s taking cues from a more modern proposition.
The once-inescapable Nike Killshot 2 informs the layout of “Sail,” “Black” and “Gum” on this edition of the Cortez. While the black midsole stripe presents a divergence from that shoe’s layout, the rest is a one-to-one reflection of the dominant 2010s silhouette. Light grey panels at the forefoot and heel create defined boundaries, while the proudly stamped heel cup & Swoosh contrast from the bright pallete elsewhere and create a true focal point. The ever-stylish gum bottom underfoot puts the finishing touches on this shoe, something of a dressed-up take on the accessible tentpole shoe.
This Nike Cortez is expected to land this Fall, retailing at the typical $90 price point. Enjoy official images just ahead.
