MM6 Maison Margiela Transforms The Salomon XT-4 Into Slip-On Mules

MM6 Maison Margiela Transforms The Salomon XT-4 Into Slip-On Mules

MM6 Maison Margiela is among the very few consistent collaborative partners that Salomon boasts, the footwear imprint typically rides solo for the bulk of their output. In addition to the relative rarity of a Salomon link-up, the French fashion house has been rather transformative with what they’ve brought to models like the Salomon XT-6 and Salomon XT-4, the latter once again in the spotlight for a brand new sneaker-turned-mule collection.

Given they were first debuted in June of 2023, the new life of the XT-4 has been in the ether for some time, but the official looks are just as uncanny as original early images. Part of what makes this so subversive in the first place is how it isn’t just one section, it’s nearly all of the shoe that sticks around. The rear is obviously cropped off, but the rest of what makes the XT-4, including the triangular graphic overlays and techy lace units, remain intact.

As for the colorways on offer, it’s a “two for us, one for them” sort of approach. In other word, MM6 Maison Margiela’s sleek, high fashion aesthetic crops up on the “Triple Black” edition, while the “White/Multi”& “Olive” pairs continue the aesthetic Salmon has worked so hard to establish. Outside of the major hardware switch, the collab is stamped via a numeric graphic at the forefoot on all three shoes.

Each pair in the MM6 Maison Margiela Salomon XT-6 Mule collection will drop on June 25th. Though sources aren’t agreed upon a set price, expect something in the range of $400 a pop.
