Matt Varga atmos’ strength as a collaborator is known by nearly every player in the footwear industry. The Tokyo imprint took to nearly half a dozen adidas shoes in the past few months, holds onto an iconic relationship with Nike while sprinkling efforts with brands like New Balance and Salomon around all of that. ASICS is prevalent in that mix as well, set to make another appearance this Summer with the atmos x ASICS GT-2160.
A teaser image shared by Hirofumi Kojima are the only thing we have to go off at the moment. In that first look, showcases the typical blend of metallic leather overlays and off-white mesh, but tones of orange & bronze that weave their way across those sections prove the biggest standout. Speaking more generally, it adds to the GT-2160‘s presence as a tentpole tech runner alongside the GEL-KAYANO line; this upcoming pairs adding to a line of collabs with the likes of KITH, Wood Wood and frequent partner Kiko Kostadinov.
Stateside fans will likely have to hold out for an ASICS.com drop- the two partner’s GEL-Kayano 14 collab launched exclusively in Tokyo before landing stateside in that exact way.
