Li Gong Brings Retrofuture Vibes To The 8ON8 x ASICS GEL-Kayano 14

Li Gong’s eponymous label, stylized as 8ON8, is linking with ASICS for a duet of sleek GEL-Kayano 14 collaborations that channel the Chinese-born designer’s vision of youthful energy and past generations city life.

Leaving his hometown of Ningbo, China to study fashion from scratch in London, eventually receiving a huge co-sign by fashion magnate LVMH which awarded him a scholarship. With the newfound boost in confidence, Li arrived at a retro-future aesthetic a vision; this aesthetic has been the backbone of his label since its founding in 2017.

Bringing that same old-meets-new passage to his ASICS collaboration, the GEL-Kayano 14 is painted in dark-colored bases of black and deep blue; both are accented by high-contrast accents that reflect the nightlife scenery and bright neon signs.

Currently, retailers in the ASICS network are reporting a release on June 20th, 2024 for $190; see the official image gallery just ahead.
