Skateboarding Legend Natas Kaupas Collaborates With New Balance Numeric And The 480 High

While the Boston brand is still benefiting from the street dominance of styles like the New Balance 550, New Balance 9060 and New Balance 1000, in recent times, they’ve ramped up their skateboarding department in a major way. Collaborations with the likes of Jeremy Fish, RONE and Vu Skateboards in just the past month and change tip off a ton of renewed energy towards their Numeric imprint. Arguably the biggest collaborator yet is getting in on the action, by way of the Natas Kaupas x New Balance Numeric 480 High.

The first skater to ever recieve a signature shoe, Kaupas’ endorsement of the Boston product is momentous in and of itself. However, this isn’t a simple stamp and move on situation, as the Lithuanian pro imparts a ton on the shoe. The vibrant primary colors that dot the nocturnal silhouette express the maximalist, psychedelic style that Kaupas himself championed in his prime. Additionally, it meshes well with how that distinct aesthetic has marked merchandise bearing his name in the time since. While green tones dominate the shoe via the heel cup, N branding and outsole, additional accent shades of red, pink, yellow and teal make their mark, that aquatic shade running throughout the design via contrast stitching.

Natas Kaupas’ NB Numeric 480 High releases on May 20th on NewBalance.com, commanding a $120 MSRP. Get a closer look at official images just ahead.

Staying in Boston, the foremost New Balance “Grey Day” releases are coming your way on May 17th.
