Andrew Rizzo The Nike Huarache has had a relatively quiet run in recent memory, and the same can be said about the Huarache Runner, a sleek take-down of Tinker Hatfield’s original silhouette that debuted just last year.
This latest pair sports a “Cacao Wow” base and “Velvet Brown” suede overlays, a far more contemporary look than the sporty, 90s-bred makeups its namesake is best known by. “Bronzine” hits add some differentiation to the tongue and heel branding, but you’d be justified to call the upper “monotone” given its use of similar colors throughout. Underfoot, the design is complete with a white midsole and brown outsole.
Not for nothing, “Cacao Wow” has become one of the most popular and regularly revisited colors in Nike’s catalog, appearing notably on the Dunk Low as well as myriad “Mocha” dominant pairs.
