The Nike Cortez Gets Nostalgic With Another “Oregon” Colorway

An inverse take on another upcoming pair.

The Nike Cortez Gets Nostalgic With Another “Oregon” Colorway

Rooted in Beaverton, green and yellow colorways just make sense for Nike. The brand’s ties to The University of Oregon have accounted for a myriad of school-themed sneakers over the years, and you could argue that the Nike Cortez is the shoe most worthy of Oregon makeup given its distinction as Nike’s first ever track shoe.

Images of this latest Oregon pair arrive off the heels of another Oregon Cortez that was previewed just a few days ago, but this look features inverse colors with yellow nylon and suede at the base. Green leather on the Swoosh and heel complete the palette, the latter treated with stitched Nike branding in yellow. Notably, the green-dominant Oregon colorway works in a vintage 1972 Nike logo on the heel while this pair appears with more modern iconography.

Nike hasn’t gone public with its ambitions surrounding the Cortez, but recent developments suggest the Beaverton brand is trying to inject new life into the model. The Forrest Gump Nike Cortez looks to be the most popular among upcoming deliveries, but these Oregon pairs as well as a Paisa Boys Cortez serve to keep the Cortez top of mind.
