Nike Cortez “Court Purple” Brings The Vintage Aesthetic

The impending release of the Forrest Gump Nike Cortez is going to draw plenty of eyes in short order, but inline editions of the silhouette still have room to shine. That’s exactly what the upcoming Nike Cortez “Court Purple” accomplishes, twisting its classic formulation with seldom-seen vintage detail.

Largely, Oregon creatives have shied away from bringing this sort of faux-aged look to the Nike Cortez. Logically, without separation between the mid and outsole, it simply doesn’t lend itself 1-to-1 to their preferred application of it. That makes the “Sail” hits underfoot pretty noteworthy, adding an aged look to the silhouette that it typically eschews. It amplifies the simplistic, retro construction that Cortez fans have stuck with for over forty years now, allowing white-on-purple palette up top to shine that much more.

The Nike Cortez “Court Purple/Sail” is projected to drop for Summer ’24. Expect the typical $90 price tag when they materialize.
