Though adidas shoes have been a staple of the skate park for decades, there’s been a bit of void in terms of Three Stripes models dedicated to that vertical. Enter the adidas ADI2000, an ode to the early 2000s chunky shoe aesthetic and a bonafide skate shoe. Though brands like Yu-Gi-Oh have brought their talents to the silhouette in its two years on the shelves, it’s hosting its first true skate imprint with the Dime x adidas ADI2000.
A majority of ADI200 colorways have embraced vibrant looks, turning away from the earthy, neutral palettes that typically grace simpler constructed models like the adidas Samba. DIME turns that formula on its head, instead bringing a comprehensive “Feather Grey” to the upper, itself pivoting to a heavy emphasis on suede. That color gives way to a subtle off-white on the midsole, and an inescapable sight for skaters, a gum sole underneath. Dime’s cursive logo appears twice on the shoe, a branding stamp that drives home the “elevated” atmosphere of this collab.
The Dime adidas ADI2000 releases April 29th, retailing for $120. Our “Where To Buy” section just ahead will contain a direct link for drop day, so keep this page handy as that date gets closer.
Staying with the Three Stripes, we got the official debut of the adidas AE1 Low, adidas Dame 9 and adidas D.O.N. Issue 6 this weekend.
