Classic “University Blue” Accents The Nike Air Force 1 Low Evo

The "next gen" model gets its second colorway.

Classic “University Blue” Accents The Nike Air Force 1 Low Evo

The Air Force 1 is emblematic of both Nike’s successes and where they seek to improve. Ubiquitous sometimes to the point of apathy, Beaverton creatives time and time again revisit Bruce Kilgore’s iconic product to retool it and add new energy. The latest take on that prompt is the Nike Air Force 1 Evo, which is now revealed in its second colorway, “University Blue.”

Three major changes arrive on this model. First, the Swoosh, heel tab and tongue tag are all “carved” into the leather, given a debossed texture that departs from mainline drops. The rough, wavy edges present a raw energy that permeates the profile. It’s a stark contrast to the futuristic additions: underfoot, the sole is “ripped” to expose Air units, while the outsole is peppered with circular craters. Comparing just the shape of the shoe, it doesn’t depart as much from the classic AF1 as other offshoot models, but the construction is certainly shifted enough to give these a ton of novel character.

Given how early we are into the silhouette’s lifespan, it makes sense to drape it in this reigned-in colorway. The recipe of a “White Force” with slight hits of color remains successful here, with “University Blue” peeking out via the newly exposed sections.

The Air Force 1 Evo “University Blue” is set to land for Summer 2024, carrying a $145 price tag. Just ahead you can find detailed looks to get ready for their release.

Staying on the Nike front, new information points to an OG retro of the Air Jordan 1 “Bred” in 2025.
